1932 Mercedes Benz Kit Car
This 1932 Mercedes Benz Kit Car is based off of a 1974 Ford Mustang II chassis with a 171cid V-6 smoother mechanics tried to get this car running correctly for him to no avail and after spending a ton of money. When Keith brought me this car on the back of a flatbed he had warned me that four mechanics tried to get this car to run correctly, spent a lot of money and he was at his wits end when he brought it to me. He told me that he never takes the car more than 5 miles from his house due to the fear of her breaking down, stalling or just not starting after she is turned off. I promised him that I would get her running and driving correctly and he would be able to take her anywhere he liked to go without fear of her not starting or breaking down.

I started off by pulling the carburetor and rebuilding it. I then removed and rebuilt the distributor getting rid of the points and putting in an electronic ignition. I did a full tune-up on the motor. I also rebuilt the front steering linkage and suspension and replaced all the rubber bushings and pads for the rear suspension. I replaced both catalytic converters and fixed all the leaks in the exhaust system. Fixed all of the electrical and wiring problems and got all the gauges to work correctly. Another problem was the alternator and power steering pump would throw the belts off due to their misalignment so I fabricated new brackets for both to align the power steering pump and alternator with the crank pulley and water pump pulley which stopped the belts from being thrown off.

She is now running beautifully Keith takes her every weekend for a ride without the fear of her not starting and goes to shows all over the Hudson Valley area. She is now winning trophies at the car shows and getting lots of thumbs up when he is cruising around in her I am so glad that he is now happy and enjoying his little girl.
