1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 has been through 3 different shops before she came to Bonez Garage. The other shops just could not get this car right. When we received the car she was overheating within 5 minutes of starting to driver her, she would ping like crazy when you would try to accelerate never mind trying to floor the gas pedal and the electrical was a complete mess nothing worked correctly. She is now in our hands and we promised the owner when she leaves Bonez Garage she will do all of the things she is supposed to do. 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 we are going over some of the work that we did on her and why we did what we did. Part 1
1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 we put a new toy in her. Part 2. We are now using full electronic distributors that you can program right from your phone using Bluetooth even while the car is driving down the highway. No more spending days trying to get that perfect timing curve we can now do it in just a couple of hours and you can have multiple curves for the same car to run different octane fuels, racing, towing and more. 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 is now running!!! She sounds awesome and is running great even before we set the timing and make all of the carburetor adjustments.
1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 we had a great 1st test drive and found a couple of new issues with her. First she is running hot a light you can watch the temperature go up quickly and we also have some electrical issues under the dash. She did run great, has a lot of power, handles excellent but needs an alignment. Will keep you posted check out the video.

1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 we have the dash out and found an electrical nightmare and mess. The amp gauge was fried and about to catch fire. We found there were no fuses or fuse-able links in the starter circuit and the amp meter gauge circuit. No fuses on wires coming out of the fuse block power posts for the accessories that were add to the car. We also found lots of stuff loose and not put together correctly as well as grounds on the back of the dash that were hooked to plastic parts of the gauge cluster. This was suppose to be a professional shop that built this car 🤔.
1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396cid 5 speed has come out great. We fixed every problem her owner had with her when he pulled her out of the other shop she was in. He had us fix the cooling system, clean up the wiring and hoses in the engine bay, electrical system, lights, gauges, exhaust system, brakes, suspension system, panel gaps, rattles, differential and even the position of the driver seat. This car is now amazing to drive.
