1967 Mercury Cougar
1967 Mercury Cougar is our next project. This car has been sitting for several years the owner was trying to get her back out on the road but never seemed to have the time to work on her so he he brought her in and we are going to get her running for him. We are going to replace the 289cid motor with a 302cid motor that has about 300 horse power, we have a T-5 5 speed standard transmission for her, we are installing a manual 4 wheel disc braking system, replacing all of the steering linkage, all of the rubber in the suspension is going to be replaced with polyurethane, fix the rear differential, repair the wiring harness and then bend up a new exhaust system. This is going to be a really nice driver and we are looking forward to getting to work on her.

The 1967 Mercury Cougar is coming along nicely. The holes that were cut into the shock towers have all been patched, the hole in the rear floor pan has been patched and all of the floor pans have been cleaned and wire wheeled to remove the majority of the rust. The floor pans are now ready to get a rust encapsulator sprayed on to them and then a ceramic undercoating to help control the heat from coming into the car. We also have the 5.0 motor just about ready to be sprayed Ford blue.
1967 Mercury Cougar is going great! The holes in the shock towers have been repaired, the underneath of the car has her new rust encapsulator coating as well as a new ceramic insulation undercoating, all of the wheel wells have been rust encapsulating then a rubberized undercoating was shot into them and the lower half of the engine compartment has also been rust encapsulating and has had an under hood black sprayed into the engine compartment. So if you have a chance check out the video car is looking really good.
1967 Mercury Cougar we now have most of the front steering and suspension in. We have the rear axle all back together and the new rear disc brake set up in. The motor looks great and is ready to go back in once we finish the steering system, breaking system, fuel lines and break lines.
1967 Mercury Cougar coming out so nice. We are now starting to really put things together and have the motor fully painted a beautiful Ford blue. We use a two part high temperature paint and primer which holds up really well to the high under hood temperatures and to most fuels and solvents.

1967 Mercury Cougar no longer has 4 wheel drum brakes she now has 4-wheel disc brakes. The front rotors measure out at 14 in and the rear rotors measure out at 11.65 in and are from a Cobra SVT. We painted the cooling veins to keep them from rusting for better cooling of the rotors and also painted the hats, calipers and all the brackets so when you look through the windows of the rims there will be no rust staring back at you. Now to install the rest of the braking system and run all of the fuel and brake lines. This car will stop as well as she goes.
1969 Mercury Cougar is getting closer to being fired up. We have to finish up cleaning up all of the wiring, custom bend a new exhaust system, bleed the braking system, fill all of the systems with fluids, check all the systems for leaks, check to make sure all the new pieces and parts are tight and then fire up her motor. Check out the video to see how nice this little girl is coming out.
